Georgia State University
Six distinguished ladies founded Theta Chapter on September 10, 2005. Nisha Patel, Dipti Patel, Sabin Momin, Stuti Shah, Sneha Patel, and Inas Momin worked hard to establish this organization on this prestigious campus. Over the first few years the colony began to expand as it gained interest and more dedicated sisters.
Along with eleven other organizations, Sigma Sigma Rho is a member of the Multicultural Greek Council established at Georgia State University. GSU Sigma Sigma Rho has maintained great relations with the other organizations on campus including the MGC and NPHC councils this involved both hosting events together and simply showing support and promoting unity on campus and in the Atlanta area. Theta chapter is such a loving and welcoming group of Sisters who make anyone and everyone feel at home.
Over the next 12 years Theta Chapter has successfully crossed 12 classes of incredibly passionate and hardworking young ladies. Many of whom have gone on to do wonderful things with their lives and their careers. These Sisters have also served as Big Sisters, Process Mentors, and Presidents for nearby schools as well including the University of Georgia, The University of Florida, Georgia Tech Institute of Technology and Mercer University. The dedicated sisters of the Theta Chapter have never failed to show that they have very big goals that will be met at all costs. Performing the same duties as colonies twice its size the Sisters at Theta Chapter have shown passion and dedication to their letters.
This past Summer 2017, at the National Convention in New Orleans, Theta Chapter was awarded Colony of the Greek Unity Award by the National Executive Board. They have also recently collaborated on campus with other organizations to volunteer with Books for Africa to focus on Children’s Education & Literacy. Theta Chapter constantly represents society and the chapter has also continued to work hard by providing a number of leadership opportunities to even some of the youngest members of this Sisterhood. All in all Theta Chapter has strived to uphold the principles and pillars of the Sisterhood as a whole. Sisterhood, Society, and Remembrance will forever be represented on this campus.
